So I have a very early '85 745T manual, original to the family since new. I was home from college, when my dad bought it right off the transport truck from Norfolk. The very first one delivered in VA.

Fast forward nearing 40 years later, it has been a wonderful car that was used hard and mechanically maintained well. It still gets driven from time to time, but a lot of the trim is flat out gone which has actually reduced its usability. The windshield trim plastic/rubber has pretty much disintegrated. I know that it is NLA, and has been for years (I looked 15 years ago and it was unobtainium then). But now the plastic/rubber has deteriorated to the point to where wind is whistling loudly at highway speeds through particularly the upper windshield trim. Has anyone found any solution that looks halfway decent to address the unavailability of windshield trim? I've looked through the forums and my cursory search hasn't yielded any definitive answers. Some have supposed that later model V90 windshields with integrated trim may fit. Anyone found anything? Anyone have some that is decent in their spare parts bin that they would be willing to part with?

 

Check with an installer and look up the windshield for a a 1990 740 . I believe this was the change year where they had the trim integrated into the windshield. Have them check the part number for the year that changed .
