My daughter had the passanger side mirror on her 1990 780 shattered. My question is will a side mirror from either a 740 or 940 fit a 780? From pictures I've compared on the Internet it looks like bezel attached to the door is a 780 only part (its still intact on her car) but the actual pivioting portion of the 780 and 740 mirrors look identical. Does anybody know if they can be swapped?

 

Unfortunately from the parts catalog the 780 mirror base is a different part number from anything else. It may be that another Volvo mirror has the same dimensions- but no way to tell without trying another mirror in the flesh.
