'82 242 gt...restore or junk? (2.1 manual)
Soo things been sitting since 96, doors won't open, got some rust, needs timing belt. Can you still find parts for these? Guy said I can just have it so I'm really tempted so long as he can find the keys and get the title. Your opinions please, it sounds like a no brainer but I mean this thing probably needs rebuilt from the tires up. I took a video I'll upload soon as I have better connection. Thanks! -Stuart

It's not a turbo...
I wouldn't get into this unless you have a lot of time and money to put into it. if you restore it to a nice shape it's worth $5-10k depending on the restoration quality and it will cost you way more than that to restore it. If you just want to get it running, with all the rust, it's not really a car you can dive around. Sitting since 1996 in that climate, it's really not a good candidate for resurrection--too many things against it.

If you have a trailer and a place to park it in your yard or garage, it would be a worthwhile long term project. Worst case scenario is you part it out you could get at least $2k from wheels, instrument panel, body panels.
