I have seen several advertised such as Haynes, Chilton, etc. But, what is the consensus here on the best one to purchase first for my 245?

 

I have the chilton one. Its not a bad manual overall. The only thing i dont like about it is that it covers like 10 model years so sometimes you have to figure out exactly which pictures and procedures are for your exact car.

 

Go to the library and look through theirs to see what is covered, or not covered. I bought the Bentley manual for the 240 on eBay in like new condition $30 inc. ship. The others cost about $18 plus tax at the local parts stores (plus the GAS to get there & back) and are about half the manual of the Bentley.

 

I own all three. The Bentley manual paid for itself within 2 weeks, i.e. my first repair.
