88 Volvo 240 Rough Idle/Power Cuts
Hello all, first post here.
I've got an 88 244 that's been having some issues with idling and driving. It starts right up but immediately it idles rather rough (engine shaking a little bit and is inconsistent with rpms) it'll drop down to almost stall them pick back up and then go to 1500rpm all randomly. Note - it normally doesn't stall, Its stalled only twice during parking lot speeds.
When driving sometimes it'll cut power when you give it any throttle randomly. Sometimes accelerating is perfect with no issues, sometimes itll hiccup and be very jerky with inconsistent power throughout acceleration.
Things I've done:
spark plugs
Distributor cap and rotor
New AMM to Throttle body hose (old one had a crack)
fuel injector cleaner
Air filter
Oil change
checked fuel pressure regulator (it's fine)
This problem just recently popped up after replacing the above parts. Any advice would be very helpful.
I've heard that the Fuel ECUs can sometimes go bad. I've also heard that maybe this could be the O2 sensor.
Thanks!

thinking aloud here - you checked the FPR - did you also check the fuel pressure? Did you thoroughly check for air intake leaks and exhaust leaks? I'd look at all the vacuum lines, injector seals, all the intake boots etc. Some of the vacuum lines may be hidden so consider doing a smoke test (RobertDIY has a good vid on youtube on making your own smoker). Also look at the idle control valve and test the engine coolant temp sensor before looking at replacing an O2 sensor or blaming the ECU.
