Default '91 240 Steering Rack Lines

Hi, one of the hard-lines on my steering rack sprung a pin-hole leak. I pulled the rack out of the car and removed the lines but they are not typical brake-line fittings like I had expected. They look more like fuel line fittings.

Does anyone know the size/type of these fittings? And does anyone know where I can get the fittings and/or lines? I feel it would be a waste to replace the rack just for these lines. The line itself seems to be roughly the same as 1/4" brake line but not double-flared or bubble flared.

(pic is off the net... not my car)

the parts diagrams on VADIS don't look much like that steering rack in your picture,

further complications, there's 2-3 different steering gears used on these, 2 Cams, and 1 ZF

lets see, a CAM 1359900 uses long oil pipe 1387450, and short oil pipe 1387449, with 4 o-rings 1387453 ... these pipes come with the 'nut' fittings already attached.

a CAM 3516941 uses the same pipes and rings.

the ZF Steering gear uses completely different setup, with 3 oil pipes that have banjo fittings

oh, later CAM racks are labeled TRW as they were bought out.

I hate to sound hillbilly, but I have successfully brazed hydraulic lines on heavy equipment,so the machine could run while waiting for a new hard line. Just be careful with the heat, the tubing is thin. Flush with brake clean afterward.
