91' 740 heating fan broke

Default 91' 740 heating fan broke

the heating fan on my 1991 740 is completly blown out now. for a month or two it squeeled alot when it was on and eventually only worked on the highest setting but now it does not work at all. it is not a big issuse now becuase it is summer and i dont have ac in my car anyway but i want to know how to fix this or how much it would be for someone else to. it is also somewhat dangerous becuase i cant defog my windows. any help is appreacitated

To all that read, whenever you hear the fan squeeling it's best to lube it ASAP with that grease that comes in a spray can. Can't remember the name of it now. It may extend the life of your fan. Mine still works after 10 months. Lube the bearings real good.

To replace the fan, (on my '87 740 GLE) I had to remove the panel under the dash on the passenger side. Then the fan would come out with the basket. Pretty easy job after you get your hands on a fan.

ill loo into that thanks for the info. I didnt know where the fan was that was why i didnt grease it.
