Default 92 940 hard start, after replacing expansion tank

I originally had an overheating problem. Found that the expansion tank was cracked. R2 the tank and now the car has difficulty starting. No problem starting when the pressure is released from the cooling system. But when the car is shut off it won't start again, pressure built back up. Also, when I step on the gas pedal the car wants to stall unless I ease into it, the trans will kick in with a sudden jolt andthen it'll move fine. But can't step on it. Any suggeestions.

Hi there,

with a COLD engine, start it up , give it about 30 seconds and remove the expansion tank cap, if there pressure when you unscrew the cap the head gasket blew when it overheated. Because the engine isn't warm enough within 30 seconds to pressurize the cooling system so the cylinders are pressurizing it.
I'd eliminate that possibility first.
