Default 93 940t wagon gas guage issue

Hello all,

Well I bought a 93 940t wagon. It is in great shape but it has couple of small problems. The first is that the gas gauge works then drops to empty.I have tried to duplicate the problem but cannot. When it does work it is accurate. The secont is that the car vibrates through the floor about 3k rpms.It is smooth though at idle. Can it be the trans mount.
Thanks

Maybe the Guage is bad.

The second one may be bad enigne and trans mounts.

I thought that the trans mount might be bad because my 740 had bad engine mounts and it vibrated at idle. This is smooth at idle just a vibration at 3k rpm's while driving.

Second,is there a way to check the gauge?
Tech,we can always count on you.
Thanks!

There really isn't all that much besides removing the entire assembly and test the sending unit first with an Ohm meter then mess with it and watch the guage and see if maybe it is a dead spot in the sending unit or the guage is bad.

Well, I just put on a new trans mount and now it is worse. It vibrates when I am sitting still and I rev it between 2.5k and 3k rpm's.At idle it is smooth.WTF!!!!!!

Check and see if now the oil pan is sitting on the Subframe.

How could my old mount be smoother than the new?

The new mount might now have the engine offset.
Before it might have been more level.
New mount higher than the old one.
