As I have yet to get off my lazy **** and pick up a manual.... can any one of you fine ppl assist me with a PN for the O2 sensor for a 1994 940 non turbo? or send me in the right direction?

see? its never that simple. these PN's are all from the 2003 edition of the Volvo VADIS parts catalog.

Actually for non Reginas you can use Ford spec Bosch O2 sensors, $25 at Autozone and such. The plug has to be swapped, but if you don't mind that, it is a cheap option.

 

i never noticed before that volvo had so many different PN's for sensors... those two from fcpeuro are specied for 94/95 940 (bosch) only, and different for EGR vs not.

my 92, there's different PN's for turbo and not turbo... 3531400 for turbo, and 3501753 for non-turbo bosch.

 

That is another reason I asked you experts...I noticed the many different sensors and was like WTF... At least I have it narrowed down.

Howdy, I know this is a really OLD thread but here goes ... I was out 4- wheeling with my Battle-Ax 940 , and was crossing a small creek , actually on the return ...anyway the ex. pipe ripped off and caused the warm/hot O2 sensor to take on water ... perhaps it cracked the ceramic and failed , Long Story ! What I'm wondering is if anyone can tell me the FORD sensor part I can replace it with cheaper . Mine is a simple 2 wire O2 sensor 1994 volvo no turbo and W/ EGR Thanks Guys !

 

Generics. You can install a generic Bosch or other three-wire heated sensor instead of the more expensive Volvo OEM sensor in Bosch LH systems, but you will have to splice in the connector. The separate FAQ File on sensor replacements shows some wire length and splice information. Bosch model numbers 13953, 13942, and 13913 are reputed to work depending on your year and engine (same sensor listed as for Ford 5.0 V8 Mustang engine but different harness lengths: check the Bosch site for applications and see the FAQ File on sensor replacements).

 

+1. I've done this for two cars including an 850T and it worked out well (which has a four wire connector so you have to pay attention to what's the heater vs the sensor). The kits will come with heat shrink insulation so my advise is to disconnect the connector, pull out the sensor, do your cut/splice on the bench to get the correct length then reinstall like its a new part.

 

I'm wondering if the Generic Eric O2 sensor aka Ford V-8 Bosch 13942 ,is going to work with 1994 940 engine code " 83 " W/ Pulseair EGR .I have a spliced in O2 sensor in it now, that has been running a long time ...to the best of my knowledge it is part # Bosch ? 252 003 034 ? other numbers on it are 982 , 92732. this was a replacement spliced in unit ,that has run fine ...until water contamination ...I'm curios to know if the Ford unit will work 100%.I dont mind splicing the wires etc, just want to do it cheap as possible ...THANKS .
