940 T Sunroof seal
Is the sunroof seal glued to the sunroof panel or just slipped on. I have a new seal and wish to replace the old one. The Volvo is from 1992 and a USA model.
It is not glued, it's pressure fitted, and it's not really a seal but more of a debris barrier. Water seeps past it and it's supposed to go down the four channels, one in each corner of the sunroof tray. The front two channels are easily cleaned, the back two are a major PIA...
And no, if there is a leak a new seal won't help. In the past I have made sure that the front drainage holes are clear, then in the rainy season I'd park trying to point the front of the car downhill which was a cheap and easy way to fix the issue.

Thanks veryone. I don't have leaks but just wanted to freshen the seal to improve wind noise. I notice that the seal I bought is for metal roof panels but the 940 has I believe fiberglass a panel. Magnets won't adhere to it.
I am not sure what the material is, may be aluminum, but I don't think it's fiberglass, it is pretty light weight whatever it is... I have one out laying around, I'll look at it closely. As far as your seal, it will work as long as it is the right fit, the material shouldn't matter...
