Default 940 wagon AC

Friend just bought a 94 940 Turbo wagon. AC not working has basic controls. System has charge no compressor engagment.

Anyone have a basic tree of troubleshooting .... where to start looking for problem?

Thanks in advance

Check for power at the low pressure switch.
If no power then I would remove the control panel and opne it up looking for a bad solder joint.
The bad solder joint is very common on that car.

I have been trying to find an old controller to take apart at home to make a walkthrough for the forum.

Tech, you are refering to the center control panel, correct? and once removed where should I look for this bad joint? I have aldata CD's so I can bring up complete wiring .... just need a little more info on the joint... where it would be?

Once the unit is out you need to remove the black cover by folding up the metal tabs.
Then take out the 2 screws from the outside going into the plastic by the plug area.
Then uder where the cover was remove the 4 screws. Then the circuit board will flip over.
Then look closely and you should see the bad joint.
If you don't and can post a pic of the circuit board I can point it out to you.
