Volvo newbie here. I just purchased a beautiful 1991 740 sedan and have begun repairing all mechanical issues. I replaced the engine mounts with Westar #Em8622 because I could not find oem mounts. The Westar mounts are stiff and the car vibrates at idle. The old oem mounts were worn pretty badly and oil pan was close to the sway bar, but I had no vibration before mount installation. Has anyone here actually installed 960 oem mounts in a 740? They are available and if will work might be the answer to my issue. Thank you. John

 

Why not just get 740 mounts? They are not hard to find. I don't know if anyone can help you with 960 mounts in a 740 question. If you have vibration now, obviously the mounts you put in are not right.

 

I have had no luck finding oem 740 mounts for My 91. Any idea where I might find a pair? From my research it looks like volvo discontinued them and I couldn't find any on line anywhere. I was just curious if anyone had installed 960 mounts because they look similar. I will keep looking for a set of oe volvo 740 mounts. Thank you.

 

960 mounts seem to be different. 740 mounts could be just rubber or the oil filled kind in the later models. I'd try a good aftermarket set if you can't find OEM ones.
