An accumulator for a turbo
Hey all, about to buy a new turbo and an while at work, one of the guys that I work with said something about an accumulator for the turbo on my car. It would be placed where the oil line goes to the turbo and after power has been cut to the car the pressure will drop, but the oil in the accumulator will slowly go into the turbo while it is still spinning which might provide longer turbo life. Is there such a device for my car? I know that modern turbos have oil pumps that will pump the oil for a little while to help protect the device. And if there is such a device, where can I get one and how much would it cost?

just let your turbo cool down the last mile or two of driving by taking it easy, and you'll be fine.
the Volvo turbos are both water and oil cooled, and the water plumbing is configured so it 'percolates' and self circulates, this works adequately as long as you don't zoom up and shut the engine down immediately.
