Aftermarket sterer for 92' 940 Turbo
I went to have an aftermarket stereo installed in my girlfriends 92' 940 Turbo at Best Buy and they weren't able to find a mounting kit. They said to check out a Volvo forum and see if anyone could help me out, so here I am. They had a general Volvo kit, but they felt that it wasn't the correct one and if used the stereo might seat akward.
They also said that year Volvo has two different dash layouts, each with a different stereo surround style and each needing different kits. Not sure if they were correct, or which style she has in her car.
I also tried Crutchfield and they suggested this for the mounting kit:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-rOwSjic...sp?I=120999200
Would anyone be able to confirm if this is right? It says it's a general kit for many volvo models so after what they told me at Best Buy I'm a little hesitant to buy it.

RE: Aftermarket sterer for 92' 940 Turbo
I went with the Crutchfield mounting kit which has a 30 day return policy if it doesn't work, so I can't go wrong.
I priced out installation at a few spots and they all quoted me around $100. $50-60 for the standard installation and up to $70 because of they have to bypass the factory amp.
I found a tutorial on what needs to be done to bypass the factory amp, but I have a general stereo install question. The car has a 6 speaker setup (front dash, front door and rear) but the cd player only has the 4 spaeaker outs (LF, LR, RF, RR). How do I work in the extra set of speakers? Just splice the front two car speakers to the LF and RF outs on the new deck?
