B230f 16v bored out are there chips for ecu
Have just got my 1987 Volvo b230f jet2.2
wisco 96.5 pistons
158 mm long rods
decked
head dome opened to match bore
cometic .70 head gasket
having issues with it not pinging am going to try 100 octane tomorrow but have a big feeling the ecu won’t be able to operate it properly without a tune or chip am seeing if anyone has any insight.

there's no 'chips' or 'tunes' for a LH2.2 system, its hard coded firmware thats not upgradable
you wanna mess with custom tuning, you'll need something like a megasquirt to replace the LH ECU

you could, I suppose, use larger injectors, and or more fuel pressure, to increase the amount of fuel squirted in the same unit of time, scaled carefully to the increase in cylinder displacement.
I believe LH2.2 non-turbo engines were 38 PSI nominal, while LH 2.4 and all turbos were 44 PSI.... these are pressure relative to intake manifold vacuum, so at high vacuum, the pressure is reduced some, i believve a direct amount (-7 psi vacuum == 7 less PSI of fuel pressure)

Thanks for all your info I have a aem manual fuel pressure regulator can I up the pressure to help the problem and still keep stock ecu? I have a aem ems 4 set up sitting around I live in California and was trying to squeeze around the tickets
