Default Blower Fan

I recently got the blower motor replaced in my '86 240 which was a pain for the mechanic. After he got everything put back together I now have heat for the 1st time but the fan is really noisy. My question is I really don't want to tear the dash apart (or pay my mechanic to do it again) so will I have any issues with the fan going out permanently?

Thanks

Depends on the type of noise it is making. I just replaced my blower motor with one I purchased from FCP. It does make more noise than the original did but I suspect that it is normal for the motor I bought (it was labeled VDO - made in china). I have read in other posts that some replacement motors require modification of the housing to mount the replacement properly. If this modification is not done correctly, the motor will be slightly off causing the fan to scrape. If this is the problem, I think the only solution is to open it up again and check.

for what its worth, our 1987 240's fan was /never/ that quiet on anything above '1'. at '2' it makes more noise than my 740 does at '4', but its just a wind-and-motor noise, not a scraping or rattle or whatever.
