Default Can't Diagnose ABS system on 93 940

I recently bought a 1993 940 turbo with ~130k miles on it. It had an ABS light on the dash, but I can't retrieve any codes from diagnostic system. Both sockets 2 and 6 yield 1-1-1, but socket 3 doesnt read anything. I also can't successfully reset the ABS light. Has anyone else experienced this problem or solved it?

Some of those codes just don't work... You may have to do without. Check the voltage, check the wheels' sensors, the main unit, etc.

IIRC, the ABS doesn't store and remember fault codes, so you have to take a test drive with the ABS light on, then read the codes before shutting the engine off.

and, btw, I just checked the wiring diagrams for a 1993 940, and indeed, the ABS control unit diagnostic output should go to block A pin 3.

i found the instructions for 1993 ABS (sorry, can't copy the doc, its copy-protected on a CD)...

looks like i was wrong about memory retention, last 3 codes ARE stored even if the engine is switched off. the ignition has to be on to read them. plug in DLC block A pin 3, press button for 1 second, release and you should get a DTC code flash sequence.
