Default can't find inline fuel pump

Hi guys,

Have a 1981 240.
Tried looking up info by VIN... (yv1ax4549b1619884) because many parts suppliers don't even list the 240 being made in 1981.
Need to replace my inline fuel pump, but when I put in the model number, all the parts places list a pump with a fitment that only starts as early as 1991.
Many only list the 242 as the start, no 240 in 1981.
Anyone know the part number?
Anyone know if any Autozone, Napa, or Advance Auto part number fits?
Or an inexpensive online replacement part?

I just plugged in "1981 volvo 240 fuel pump" and I got a bunch of hits.

yep, but when I go to the actual parts, the fitment details don't match.
Plus, I am looking for the inline pump, not the tank pump.
Also, many of the search responses list a large variety of pressures.
Cant tell which is right.

Go to IPD, FCP Euro, Voluparts, etc. or ebay. If the seller doesn't list an 81 240, you don't want to deal with him...

Get the Bosch pump , it's the right one with the right pressure.

a 1981 is CIS (Ke-Jetronic), and uses much higher fuel pressure than the later EIS (LH-Jetronic) injection systems. the pumps are not interchangeable.

re model numbers, 240 is the model, 242 is a 2-door, 244 is a 4-door(sedan), 245 is a 5-door (Wagon). same thing, really. somewhere in the early 80s, they started badging them 240, but internally they still used the 242/244/245 notation.
