Crank Pulley Torque Discrepancy
Hey guys,
Recently did the timing belt on my 92 240.
I followed the torque setting according to the Haynse manual: "60 Nm".
I've since seen people saying that there is need for 45/60 degree after this as well.
- Which is correct?
- Should I be redoing the additional degrees?
Cheers,
Cris

The crankshaft bolt requires the additional 45/60 degrees if I remember correctly. Your Haynes manual should include this information as I believe that is where I read it. I can't check anymore as I gave my manual to the person who purchased my last 240.
With an additional 45/60 deg?
Thanks for the reply all, I may bin the Haynes manual.
I've rented the crank pulley holder to redo the torque.

Cris

Yes, but I wouldn't sweat it--as long as you got it nice and tight with a 1/2" ratchet it should be OK. I've done some 20 of these over the years and never had one come loose, and I never torque them... The only thing I torque are head bolts... Red Blocks are very forgiving...
