Can someone tell me the years that have similar parts to the 85 245 DL. I'm going to junk yard and they have an 83 and an 89. Where are the year breaks where body styles change etc.? Thanks!

 

it depends on the parts as much as anything. some parts are interchangable back to the first 240's, others change in different years, it was incremental improvement all along.

does 85 have the 'tv panel' big rectangular plastic headlights? if so, then body parts should be pretty much compatable right up to the last year. Hmm, Vadis thinks 85 was the last year for 'quad rectangulars', which I believe started circa 1981.

does 85 have the B230F engine with LH2.2 injection? then fuel injection and ignition stuff should be compatible up through 88. earlier than 85, they were B23F engines, with LH-II, and before that B21 and smaller, with KE-Jetronic.

so, your body is probably compatible with the 83, your engine MECHANICALS are compatible with the 89, but your EFI is only 85-88. VADIS thinks an 85 might have EITHER a BW55 or a AW70 transmission. My guess is, AW70, which is used on all later models up to the end.
