I'm in an 85 240 gl wagon. From a stop, if I try to go, every now and then I get up to just under 2k rpm and my engine stops accelerating for a half second to a second, then it feels like I'm putting the pedal to the metal when it finally stays accelerating again.
This is particularly bothersome because both turns away from my house are blind turns.

Any suggestions or ideas on what the cause is?
