Default Engine Speed sensor

If the engine speed sensor got wet some how would it cause the hard start and could the AC draining on the bell housing cause it to get wet ? Also When I got the car the Ac drain had been removed from the Floor board but it looked like water had run on the floor for some time. When I replaced it and put it back where it was to drain that seems to be when all this started.... And I mean VOLVO AC's put out al great deal of water.... Could the water get on this and cause it to short or miss. Beacuse it does not do the hard start in the morning just after I have run the AC for along time and the water drains. I have been having starting problems so if you would check the post and see what I wrote. Also where is the speed sensor located on the 1993 240 4 dr ?

Default RE: Engine Speed sensor

I've got 740 GL, with a B230F engine. My sensor is found on top of the transmission bell housing, right behind the engine block. It required a 10 mm wrench, and a willingness to get your arm greasy.
