Default Flame trap question

Hi all,

I have a 1987 740 with the b230f.

The fitting labeled as '6' has cracked at the very bottom and the crack is about 5mm long going up. I know that fitting is dirt cheap, something like $5, but due to the coronavirus i cannot get one from the US due to Australian air travel restrictions and there are none in Australia. My question is, is it OK if its cracked a little bit? There is no oil coming from it, but i was just concerned that it might cause a vacuum leak. Or the oil trap system doesn't have to be vacuum sealed so its OK if there is some leakage from the atmosphere?

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about it, you can wrap some tape around it or some other sealant. That PCV system is part of the emission control...
