FOUND a piece of the fuel relay ON THE FLOOR. Help!
Hi All,
So I've been having some stalling issues recently, and just ordered a new fuel pump relay to hopefully put an end to these intermittent, but annoying stalls.
I have ordered the correct part after researching online, and can even see where the old on is (right under the glove box). As I went to replace it today, though, I noticed a similar looking white box to the fuel relay pump I ordered loose, and under the seat!
I have no idea how this happened, or where this part even came from, but it's slightly smaller than the part I am replacing, but looks very similar. After running the part number written on it (1324675), I see that it is indeed part of the fuel pump relay. No idea how or why it became dislodged, but in the interest of just moving forward, I would like your help in figuring out where to plug it back in.
Anyone familiar with the points of access for the fuel pump relay pieces? Where should I even begin looking to plug this thing back in?
Thanks so much for the help with this bizarre situation...

um, what year/model car is this?
the fuel pump relay isn't meant to come apart, but it has a base with the pins that go into the socket, a plastic 'box' shaped cover, and inside, there's a little circuit board, and two actual relays (seperate coils and contacts).
on a 740/940, the relays are plugged into a central panel behind the ashtray and under the stereo. on a 240, the relays are scattered about, I believe the fuel pump relay is behind/under the glovebox.

oh, reading your message again, and between the lines, its obvious you have a 240
that relay shell under the seat might be detrius left behind from someone tryng to hack an old relay to solve a non-start problem.

over by the steering wheel, that would probably be some different relay.
240 relays are pretty scattered. when I looked up that 1324675 PN, it wasn't the fuel injection/pump relay, it was something else unspecified.
ahhh, I did a part number search in Vadis. Relay PN 1324675 is for the electric rear window heater.

dug up my 1991 240 'greenbook'. the relay behind the glovebox is in fact the LH2.4 'main' relay (which is fuel pump AND fuel injection, 2 relays in one can), and the rear window defroster timer relay is somewhere behind/under the instrument panel on teh driver side (drawing is quite vague)
