Default Found this really nice 940 for sale, Need Advice.

Hello

I found this really nice 1 owner 940 for sale with only 57k miles. They priced it for $6,975. Seems a bit high for a 18 year old car even though it has only 57k miles and in such nice condition. I think I might be interested in this so how much do you guys think I would offer him for this. I know the car is in such nice condition but I still don't want to pay more then its worth.

New Car Prices and Used Car Book Values - NADAguides $3,825 top retail. Maybe $500 more with super nice condition.

Well, this is a Volvo place, so I believe that Volvo's, especially 940 is generally undervalued as it's a great car that hasn't been imported since 1995 and supply is getting scarce especially for nice examples. The car in question seems nice yet those miles should not be the big attraction; many older cars with low miles do have problems even more so than well maintained higher mileage ones. Unuse or low use of a car can be very detrimental. Buyers generally are low information and all they have to rely on is miles so they go crazy over that one issue which should be just one of many to consider. I would throw the valuating Books away when dealing with cars older than 10 or so years, and only consider the condition. In this case it's a dealer which is OK but still, you have to see the car before deciding. And the price is on the high side considering other "pristine" 940s out there... If it's pretty perfect, may be $4-5K.

Picky, I know, but you have 3 different tire treads on the car and one seems far more worn than the others.

I'd be wondering why myself.

there is a "couple" who sold? a white one a few months ago..or it was the same freaking car except it was white and they said they were the original owners.......but needed to part ways with it....not sure if they did sell it or not...but the miles are the question here....

I would pay 3000 max...

The Volvo 940's are becoming harder to find it that good of a shape but I wouldn't pay more the $4,000 tops.
