Found this really nice 1997 960 for sale in Florida.
hello guys
There is this really nice 960 with only 53k miles on it. From looking at the pics it seems like its in mint condition. Only thing is that they priced it at $7,975 which seems kind of really high being that its a 1997. Just wanted to know how much this is worth buying for.

I just looked on KBB.com, and with that mileage and in excellent condition, it tops out at about $5200. That's here in Texas, tho. Might be different in Florida.
I own a 97 960, and it has been a good car, so if taken care of, a low mileage one will last a long time. IMO, though, even 5 grand is a lot to pay for a 15 year old car.

That particular car looks to be way better than excellent condition.
More like Immaculate - As New.
Clearly fastidiously maintained and definately worth a price some way above the norm.
If your really after her why not try an offer midway, say $6,600 with a 12month mechanical warranty thrown in and see what they say.
That vehicle has a lot of years of reliable life ahead so worth a bigger punt.
Great color especially with the beige leather too.
Good luck.

Book values are totally irrelevant for older cars! The car is worth what someone's willing to pay for it, basically. $8k too much? May be. But how many of them are out there like that? (Assuming the car is perfect). Then you can buy one for $2k and spend $4 fixing it... Hard to be certain about these things...
But, after seeing the ad: Dealers throw all kinds of crazy prices out there, and I am sure that you can buy that car for much less. Just as I am sure they paid much less for it... And the car has mismatched tires and who knows what else... For that price, yes, I'd expect perfection.

Agreed that book value isn't the only thing to use. Actually, it's far better to see what the same car is selling for locally in other ads and then do the comparison based on that. And yes, agreed that anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
The car does look immaculate- didn't actually look at the pics before my first post- but yeah, being from a dealer I would go in with a MUCH lower price.
