Default gauges don't work

Hello all, just bought my 1st Volvo, 93 940 wagon. Just a quick question.............

I've checked the fuses and their good, but neither the fuel gauge nor the temp gauge work.

Picking up a manual this weekend, but any ideas on a quick solution?

Thanks plenty in advance.

I would pull the cluster and check the Circuit Board on the back.

Here is a link to a site that has wiring diagrams.

Thanks Tech for the valuable link.

Well, hit the interstate yesterday, fuel gauge started to work after a good bump in the road, temp gauge did not. Gonna check for loose wires, etc..

Again, thanks.

I had the same problem on my '86 240. Got a by pass wire which replaces temperature compensator board and also replaces voltage stabilizer, both located on the back of instrument cluster. Temp gage works fine, still no fuel, have to investigate sending unit on gas tank still. It took about an hour to pull cluster, make replacement and re-install.

Good luck.
