Default Getting ipod into a 88' 740

I have been searching all over this great thing called the internet and I can't find anything to connect my ipod tothe factory radio. When I bought my 88'740 it had a 12 disc CD changerconnected to the radio already so I thought that I could look up on the internet the best way to hook up my ipod to it and I couldn't find a single thing. I have been told to switch my radio out butI was wondering that if the 12 disc changer could be attached there must be a way to connect the ipod. I would check the connection on the back myself but I just though I might be able to get an answer from you guys first.

p.s.- I believe the CD changer is hardwired into the fm modulator #2 so I believe I could connect my ipod to the fm modulator #1 but I was just wondering if you could explain how I could do that if I would be able to.

edit: I don't think fm modulator was the right words for what I meant. my radio has a fm and am setting but there is also a 1 and 2 setting on it. Now the CD changer that is hookep up to my car goes through the #2 setting. Ijust to to sure what exactly I should call these setting other then setting 1 and 2.

edit 2: My tape deck is broken

Is the radio stock? and does it have a tape deck? If it does just buy a cheap car kit, you know a tape with a wire that you can plug into the ipod. I use it and it works great and no worrys dealing with wires in the back of your dash.

You could also get an FM modulator. It plugs into the Ipod and transmits its signal on a frequency your car radio can pick up. I'm pretty sure you can pick one up at wal-mart for like $30. Look in the electronics section with the rest of the mp3 players and stuff.

Yes this is an option. However it is the worst option on the market.

1. You have to find an FM station that doesn't come in clear or at all.

2. Your Ipod and FM Transmitter have to be positioned just right or else...

3. Or else you will get static like crazy.

4. If the FM station does have something playing on it but isn't clear occasionally you will hear the FM station added to the Ipod music.

My advice is to figure a way to hardwire your Ipod to your HU. I perosnally am using a BlitzSafe Ipod adapter in my 1999 s70 awd. It plugs right into the CD Chager port on the back of the HU. Rendering the CD Changer usless but I don't use it anyways I use my Ipod now. And then you just tap into a 12V source and your ready to go.

I don't know if there is a system like this out there for your model car or not, but I would do a GOOGLE search.
