I need help I bought a 1988 Volvo 240 wagon Dl automatic transmission. It was cranking fine before I had it towed to my house.now when I turn the key all it does is click no crank Could somebody please help??
The battery has power I'm really confused as to what it can be

 

Could be a lot of things, solenoid, starter, PNP switch I would start with those three in that order.

 

Thanx! It was the pnp switch!!
Now I turned it on it ran 2/3 seconds than it suddenly shut off
All it does is turn over what can it be
I recently replaced both fuel pumps

 

Check fuses/relays, does it throw out any error codes? I had a feeling it was the PNP switch, just wanted you to check the other two first and rule them out before replacing. Did you put in a new one? I pulled my old one and took it apart and cleaned it up although it was close to immaculate when I took it apart.

 

Witch relay would it be? I checked the one by the glove compartment

Is the pumps running?

 

relays can 'click' and still not work right, if there's too much crud on the contacts, or bad soldering on the little circuit board.
