high fuel Consumption
Hi there.
I own a 98' volvo 940, and i have a small problam, it uses too much fuel (well, I think it uses too much) it does about 350 KM for like 50+ liters, maybe 400 km if i cruse alot on the highway.
i have a wideband and i have a new O2 sensor, and it doesn't run rich, and for those who would say maybe the O2 sensor bad, changing it didn't had any effect on the Consumption.
So my question is 350-400 KM on 50-55 liters is ok?
edit: oh and I dont have a " heavy foot "

the american non-turbo 940's (last sold in 1995) get about 25MPG (9.5 L/100km), and the turbos get about 18 (13 L/100km), which is pretty lousy. both these are 2.3L here (B230F, and B230FT). I know in the rest of the world there are different engines.
then yeah, 13-15 L/100km will be about typical for mixed driving, and the MAX the US version gets on the highway is about 10 L/100km, cruising a steady 100km/h on level ground. the 940 has the aerodynamics of a brick sh*thouse, its a fairly heavy car, and its RWD live axle, and the AW71 automatic transmission is old school and not particularly efficient.

presumably your '98 has the updated body trim which us USA-ians only saw on the S90/V90 aka 960 type II.

Nah, fortunately 940 never got the 960/S90 "upgraded" body, anywhere in the world all the way to its end in 1998 they looked like they did in 1995.
And, no 940 are NOT heavy cars, they just feel that way... In Volvoland they are often referred to as tanks but that's, well, stupid. A 940 weighs less than a Ford Taurus, a Kia Optima, or a VW Passat...
