Default How to get to the Vacume lines behind the dash on a 1991 740

Hey Guys,

I'm currently trying to access the vacume lines that go into the A/C control panel behind the dash in my 91 740. Could someone tell me how to remove the stock radio without damaging it, and is it true that once removed it will not work again once reinstalled? Also is there anyway to remove the A/C control panel without removing the radio?

Thanks

On my 740, the head unit has a metal clip on each side of it, just slip a flathead screwdriver in between the radio and the side of the dash until you lift the clip enough that it unsnaps and pull out a couple centimeters. After that go to the other side and do the same, it should slide out after you have both clips undone. There is a more comprehensive guide at http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/865001.pdf

As for it not turning on, I think if it has power while it's disconnected it will need an unlock code for you to turn it back on. This code is different for every radio, if you don't have it you might have to call a Volvo dealer. The radio will turn on, but it will say "code" on the screen and it won't function unless you enter the 4 digit number via the keys. Hope this helps, not sure about the vacuum lines.
