I could use some ref. advice.
Hello fellow Volvo drivers,
I am on my way to attempt a compression test on my Volvo, a 1991 740T sedan. Now I thought about a dealership test or a test by my self, and I simply wish my own hands upon my Volvo. In any case, with this i am upon the notion of acquiring a screw-in type compression tester, my question lies within the point of what may be set parameters of compression for the B230FT engine. I read on an interesting website that perhaps it was 208psi.( http://www3.telus.net/Volvo_Books/engine3.html ). Appearantly i really need to get the gothenburg bible. Is this correct or should i take into account any wear which most likely is a factor in a variable psi readout which should be to a normal and/or acceptable tolerance? I had a compression test done a while back, however i feel another is most reasonable.
Any comments regarding this will be well recieved. Thanks!
