Just bought a 244 with a 5.0L
... the deal isn’t complete yet. lol. But it will be mine eventually.
It’s a 1981 244 Diesel with a 1989 Mustang GT 5.0L swap. Only has 130,000km on the body and it’s mint! Silver with blue interior and a sunroof.
The only mods aside from the engine and gearbox are iPD sway bars and tower brace. The rest of the suspension is stock for a 244 Diesel.
In the future I’m wanting to mod the suspension for performance... I’m not big into DUB/stance cosmetic suspension mods. I want it to actually handle better.
All the aftermarket spring kits I can find are for red blocks... not for a diesel. As it sits the beefier diesel suspension is already suitable enough for the 5.0.
Is there a tried and true combo of springs that will work with a 5.0L in the front, add some stiffness, lower the car a bit (~1.5-2”) and increase handling? Or should I just bite the bullet for preload and height adjustable coilovers.
Thanks!
