Lambdasond question
I have a '94 940 wagon with Regina and distributor in the block. I trying to determine if it is supposed to have an O2 sensor. Per FCP (and other exhaust pipe suppliers), Chilton's and Haynes: some do and some don't. Something blew out of the exhaust pipe just in front of the cat. converter and left a hole (no threads left to screw anything into), but I don't see any wires dangling to indicate the O2 sensor was blown out and ripped off the wires. So, I'm thinking there was no O2 sensor but rather that a plug was in there.
Any ideas? I plan on replacing the pipe and maybe the cat. converter (202K miles) when the weather breaks in the spring (upstate NY)
Front suspension, oil pan, battery, plugs and wires, throttle body cleaned and front engine seals have been replaced, now I'm working on drivability issues. Last check of codes indicate coolant temp sensor no reporting to control unit and it was running rich.
Also looking for a vacuum fitting for the intake manifold to attach vacuum gauge to.

Follow the exhaust pipe down from the engine to the cat. and you should see it mounted before or in the catalytic converter. On some exhaust systems they have an extra hole location but it would have a threaded plug in it. If you blew that off you would have a loud exhaust noise. You may have too replace that pipe or get the hole welded up.
