Hi All, I have been working on my wife's 940s B230ft 1995, I sadly did not take a pic of the pictured part as I dismantled the inlet manifold etc, ant ideas as to where this belongs would be welcome

 

Fuel pressure regulator to the bottom of the intake manifold? It's the right shape and length although usually these are black rubber...

Well, there really aren't that many hoses on and about the manifold. If there are no open fittings, and especially if the car runs well, I wouldn't worry about it.

On second thought, it looks like the battery vent hose which some batteries have, intended for use on batteries installed in the trunk on some cars.

 

It looks like one of the AC drain hoses. Either from the A pillar sun roof drain or the evap. drain.

 

Thanks for the input guys, I have had the car started and run ok for a while. It has had a cutting out problem for a couple of years, (garages not interested) so gradually going through the things it could be. Currently going to remove the egr thingy and clean or renew.
