Default Need help identifying broken pipe in engine

Hi,
I noticed a broken pipe which I think should be connected to the engine, and I have no idea what it does and if it is smart to drive the car:

This is a 740 model.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

/Erik

That tube supply's warm air to the air cleaner. When the engine is cold, the switching valve on the air cleaner opens, and allows the engine to draw in air that is warmed, by flowing over the hot exhaust manifold. It won't harm anything, to drive the car with this off during the summer. You may notice some engine performance issues when the weather and engine are both cold. Exhaust does NOT flow through this.

I'd be more concerned about the #1 ex. manifold gasket---it needs to be replaced, all of them likely. Not making any noise?
Just shove that preheat hose on the pipe--looks like it just slid off... No big deal even without it.
