Default Oil Leak in '94 940

Hello,

Just recently bought '94 940 with 87k miles. There was a large amount of oil blasting past the oil filler cap. Was guessing it was just the cap as the rubber gasket was cracked. Replaced cap today & still getting small amount of oil leaking when engine rpms kick up.

Any idea as to what's causing the leak?

you shouldn't have oil coming out the hole even if the cap is off, I believe the term is blow by. it has to do with the valves and rings. go to the tech part of the forum. good luck

You should change/clean the flame trap/oil separator located on the left side under the intake manifold, between the 3rd and 4th runner, If they are plugged you'll have excessive pressure causing oil leaks.
