Default Oil From Oil Cap

Does anyone know why I would be having oil emanating from the oil cap? It's getting on my driveway now and the little wifey don't like it.

Bad gasket on the cap ( It's replaceable; couple of bucks at the dealer) and/or excessive crankcase pressure. If you have a non-turbo, you're gonna need to become familiar with the fine art of flame trap cleaning (part of the PCV system) and if you have a 240 you might want to invest in one of these:

That little cheap part can cause a lot of damage. PEOPLE, CLEAN YOUR FLAME TRAP EVERY 5,000 MILES.

Oil separator? Where is this and what does it look like? I've never heard of one on an automobile.

Joseph, that was the problem. Bought a new cap for about $8 at Autozone.

Lev, do you have any secrets as to removing the separator? Crap, just getting to it is going to be rather remarkable considering the size of my hands.

Remove the intake manifold... Not that big a job... The only way to do this well in my book. I hear people do it without but I don't see it.

The second time I did it, I did it without removing the manifold. It was not easy. My car has always left a little oil on the valve cover since it was sitting new on the lot in 1989.
