Default pleading dumb, can't release tension on tbelt tensioner

How do I do this? there is a horizontal spring to the left of the tensioner, I have no idea how to release the tensioner. My old cars were just a matter of user a ratchet and releasing the tension.

Loosen the nut, compress the tensioner by pulling or pushing the belt, tighten the nut.
If you need to remove the tensioner, put a nail through the hole at the end of the rod.

Thanks. Think that was serpentine belt I was thinking about having done w just a ratchet on other vehicles. Now I have the t belt off, but I can't get the bolt off of the camshaft pulley. I have a strap wrench on it but can't hold it still to turn it and don't see a way to brace it against the fender or anything.
