Or maybe not.

Anyway, I bought a '92 740 Turbo wagon about a year ago (my first Volvo) and have had a minor electrical thing pretty much ever since that I'm now officially sick of living with. I know nothing about anything when it comes to automotive electrical.

Symptoms:

Neither turn signal is working (they click double-fast)
Cruise control not working
Speedo erratic and basically useless
Odometer will work for a mile or so then stop
Seat warmers don't work (I think - I'm in SoCal so never use them anyway)

Pretty much everything else on the car works fine.

I honestly have no idea whatsoever where to start. Perhaps you can help get me started. I could hand it over to a garage and say, "just fix it and bill me" but would like to reserve that as a last resort.

I'd start by checking the fuses. Turn signals blinking fast usually means the bulb(s) need replacing.

 

Yeah, check your bulbs first.Sometimes if one is out, both sides will act up.Make sure they are fitting nice and tight in the sockets. If the bulbs are good, you may need a flasher.It's located with the other relays behind the radio and ashtray. Check the fuses, too. It's easy to pull them out(your owners manual will tell you which fuse protects which device).You can tell if it's broken or not. As for the speedometer, and heated seats-those always go out. Thats Volvo .

 

I'll doublecheck the bulbs but I don't think that's it. When the turn signals click at double speed all the bulbs are working. And the other stuff all seemed to stop around the same time as each other - cruise control, odometer, speedo. That's why it seems like something deeper going on.
