been having issues with the idle "skipping" every so often. now car stalls out when driving, and rolling restart (manual tranny) doesn't work. batt died, and was replaced, plugs 2 weeks old, wires 2 months old, dist cap like new, and starter cranks around fine. wont start anymore. only fired when i put some starter fluid in, but quickly died back down again

 

can you hear the fuel pump running for a few seconds when you turn the key on ?

 

well, the relays click over, not sure where to check for the pump, too much noise from the highway to really hear much quiet stuff, so not sure if the pump is running. fuses are all good too.

 

if it ran on starter fluid
then it is definitely a fuel issue
you are going to have to check for delivery somehow.
i think there is a nut you can undo,
where the pressure line comes up to the fuel rail.
or pop off the regulator.
safely into a container of course
and if you have good delivery
you need flow restriction to make pressure
which is where the regulator comes in.
