I just got a '88 240 and the PS doesn;t work. The PO reported that when he put in PS fluid that it gushed out of the rack. I bought the car w/the price reflecting that...I hope.

I priced them at Autozone, $480....YOWZA!!!

Rockauto has em, $180, where they rebuild yours and send it back to you.

Has anybody replaced their rack?

They show 2 dif units...any idea on how to ID them?

 

Just use the rebuild service, you'll save yourself a heap of trouble! Any rack you get is a rebuilt one anyway.

 

rockauto's service says rebuild for zf racks. suggest you determine if you have a zf rack or cam rack and then call
to make sure they rebuild both types. the zf racks have a 'donut' on the inner tie rod, cam racks do not.
