I have an 86 240 wagon. While I was doing some underside looking around, I noticed a pretty significant rust spot near the rear bumper on the right. This looks to be part of the body itself and not the bumper. Wanted to see what recommendations anyone had or has ran into this before. Upon Googling, it looks like that's a common rust part for the 240's. Trying to stop the rust before it makes itself up towards the top of the car.
To me, the spot looks big enough that it needs to be cut out, new metal put in, and put POR-15 all over it. Or since the rust spot has not made it to the top of the car, I was thinking scrub as much rust as a I can out with a metal brush and then put POR-15 or some type of rust inhibitor on it? Any other suggestions is appreciated.
Thanks
