stalls out after startup sometimes.
1990 240 DL 5 Speed wagon
Ok - runs fine except sometimes I will start up it sounds rough and if I don't give some gas - keep pumping - it will die.
It happens after I have driven for a while or if I park it and later start it up. So the temp does not seem to be an issue.
I will putz along at about 5 miles an hour ( if that ) and keep punching the peddle to keep it from stalling out. Then after about less than a minute it kicks in and takes off like a rocket and rides just fine.
Battery is strong and always restarts.
Weird. I never know when it is going to happen.

what kind of shape is the ignition system in? (distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs)...
I'd probably be doing the resistance tests on the "ECT" (Engine Coolant Temperature sensor), see Engine Sensors
Its probably a good idea to clean the throttle body and the IAC (idle air controller), inspect the IAC hoses, inspect the hoses between the throttle body and the MAF (Mass Airflow Meter).
