Default still have problems with 240

Guy,
If any of you have been following my previous posts I'm still having problems with getting the car to shut off using the ignition key...
I thought I had it pegged to the fuel pump relay but when I checked it yesterday it is working like it's supposed to.
Now we did do some testing and it seems that I have an electrical backfeed condition on this circuit since I can pull the #30 wire (main feed wire to the relay) and the car will still start and run.
I noticed that when I first turn the key I hear a sound coming from the rear of the car which sounds electrical. Now I've been assuming this is the chassis fuel pump but it does sound really funny to me. Most of the electric pumps I've been around just make sort of a humming sound but this one actually makes a chattering type of sound that almost sounds like an electrical short. Is this normal or do these pumps normally just hum?
I'm going to lift the car and check this evening but I want to know what it's supposed to sound like. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
Also, if any of you have any ideas on where I could be picking up this backfeed I"m all ears (eyes)
Thanks,
Dave
