Volvo 240 Starter question
Hello fellow Volvo friends,
I just recently changed out the flame trap /breather box on my ‘92 240, and now the car won’t start. The motor turns over and I can smell a little bit of gas, but it seems like there’s no spark. I’ve checked the spark plug wires and they seem ok, though a bit old, but the car ran fine before..any ideas? Thanks,
Nick

Recheck you work step by step. You must have removed or broken a wire somewhere. If it ran good before then you did something during the reassembly . Go slow and look hard , try to remember what you did.
if you were poking around the breather box, the distributor is right there, maybe it got munged? your ignition timing comes off a crank position sensor which is on the back of the head and reads notches off the flywheel in the bell housing, this goes to the ICU, which in turn triggers the ignition power module to fire the coil. look for pulses with a test light at the coil pin 1, and if there aren't any there, look at the power module pin 5.
