hello,
I have a 244 gle 1983, 4 gear manual transmission and OD button.
when on 4th gear and OD buttonis pushed - a green light bulb "OD" is turned on the spot shown on the picture.
today while fixing something at the car, I noticed another light bulb (yellow) says "OD off", but this one never turns on. I changed the light bulb with a new one, but still the same - no turn on.

as I never met a 240 with manual transmission - I never saw this light bulb works, and I don't know if it should work on my car/

can you help: do'es this ligth bulb supposed to work on my volvo?

pretty sure the yellow OD off light is strictly for automatic overdrives (AW70/AW71), where the button *disables* the OD (turns it off) and lights the yellow light (typically an up arrow on these cars).

 

Don't worry about little symbols on Volvo dashes; they were universal and different markets got different applications... Not all apply to all cars.
