Volvo 740 ('90) - Odd warning light!
My apologies gents for the lack of introduction, however I have a problem with my car which is due to drive to Gatwick and back tonight at about one in the morning, so you can appreciate I am desperate to sort it sooner, rather than later!
A strange warning light has popped up on the dashboard, and I have no idea what it means. It's my parents car, and I am using it to pick them up from the airport. The light comes on when the engine is turned on, and stays on.
This is the light in question:
It's the light with the two semi circular things with dashes coming off them. My first thought was that it was the side lights, but having checked all round the car, the circuits, and the bulbs, it seems to be fine in that respect.
I rang my local Volvo garage who informed me they wouldn't be able to look at it until tomorrow. They are normally very very good which is rather frustrating, given the urgency. I don't want to break down on the M25 tonight, after all...!
My thanks in advance for any replies which are forthcoming, I thoroughly enjoy driving the 740GL, but as you can appreciate, I want piece of mind for my late night drive to the airport tonight!

I believe that might be a bulb out indicator, those sometimes give false readings, based on dirty bulb contacts, or old bulbs. on my 92 740 US model, its in that same position (2 over from the oil pressure light) and is yellow but has a different graphic (picture of a round bulb with lines radiating from it and a filament in the middle).

That's the same symbol for the running lights position on my 740's main light ****. I think Lev is onto it, but my car does not have that since it is a US spec car. Your's being a euro spec car is probably a bit different, but I would seem that this would be no problem. Just flip around your light **** and see what happens. Also, here in the US our running light can be on without the key in the ignition. It may be just a warning so you don't leave them on.
