Default what to check

I have a 88 240 dl and lately itll start right away but then ill be in the gym for 2 hours come back and go to start it and it sounds like its tired and kinda wants to start the battery and alternator are working like they should I did do a complete tune up a year ago any suggestions would be helpful

Start with battery. You need volts and amps, many ignore the latter. Better make sure before you go into more expensive parts.

ok Ill go get it tested tomorrow thanks i do know i replaced the battery in 2016 ish

5 years for a battery in extreme climates (cold or hot) means its probably due. The other thing to do is to inspect the cables and clean the terminals.

I just replaced the battery 25 mins ago and terminals look good so hopefully that fixes it

i had the same thing happen, thought the battery was good but better testing equipment than i had at hand proved
otherwise....
hope it cures your issue

thanks after i found the reciept for the battery was from 2014 so i got a new one yesterday am curious how long do motor mounts last? I replaced both in 2016 and noticed that my engine is shaking on the drivers side

Many last 200k... OEM. Replacement quality, who knows? But the 240 ones are cheap and not hard to swap--get a good quality one, first make sure it's bad: jack up the engine slightly to see if vibration goes away or look under the car for chassis-engine contact which would be caused by a collapsed mount.

the original motor mounts in mine were toast at about 181k miles..
